Cherry-chi-chi-ch-Chia Fresca

Hydration shouldn’t be as bland as water.  No, no no, have fun with it!  In the days before your marathon try fruit juices spiked with chia.

Cherry-Chia Fresca:

  • 2 T tart cherry juice concentrate
  • 2 T chia seeds
  • ½ c Coconut Water
  • Water to taste

Take a pretty, long-stem glass – now, you should be lying off the wine and this fresca will make you feel like you’re sipping some Merlot, only better – mix the first three ingredients and let the chia stand to hydrate.

15 or more minutes later, stir while adding water to taste.  I like mine tart.  I enjoy at least one drink per day 4-5 days before a marathon.
